Environmental Programme

CitySprint has adopted a number of environmentally friendly practices since 2002 and we aim to continue to extend and enhance these throughout our business. We have a commitment to the environment and to ensuring the business activities of CitySprint take into consideration the impact on the environment and to the continual review of these activities.

CitySprint holds the ISO 14001:2004 - Environmental Management System (EMS) accreditation which supports environmental protection and prevention of pollution in balance with socio-economic needs. This helps organisations minimise the operations and processes that negatively affect the environment, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements.

CitySprint has won the Environmental Award at the 2007 International Freighting Weekly (IFW) Awards. Judges said we had "established a clear policy outlining specific actions within the scope of what we can directly influence and measure progress on carbon neutrality". As well as winning this award CitySprint's comprehensive environmental programme has received industry recognition and has won the 2007 IFW (International Freighting Weekly) Environment Award and the Transport for London Private Sector 'Capital Fleet of the Year' award which was presented at the 2007 GreenFleet Awards. CitySprint also scooped the top prize at the 2007 UK Mail Awards in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award. As well as our internal practices we also provide our Customers with a range of options that they can choose from to support their environmental aims when using courier services.

We offer 2 reports that calculate the level of emissions produced by companies using courier services. These include a Carbon Calculator Report and Carbon Optimiser Report and are useful to businesses interested in understanding the level of emission and for those wishing to reduce them and/or offset the impacts.
