CitySprint NewsDr Phyllis Starkey MP unveils CitySprint's new Milton Keynes ServiceCentreMarch 2008 Earlier today, Phyllis Starkey, MP for Milton Keynes South West, was on hand to cut the ribbon at CitySprint’s new Milton Keynes ServiceCentre. The UK’s largest privately owned SameDay Courier business relocated its Milton Keynes ServiceCentre to larger premises, in line with strong organic growth. CitySprint has had a presence in Milton Keynes for almost twenty years and has occupied a site in the Kiln Farm Trading Estate of Milton Keynes since 2001. The new Milton Keynes ServiceCentre is located in Centurion Court, Brick Close and has greater warehousing capacity, which further enhances its storage and distribution service. Phyllis Starkey MP says: “Milton Keynes is regarded as one of the most successful ‘new towns’ built since the war and continues to achieve positive business growth. This continued success is made possible by the investment and commitment of companies such as CitySprint and I am delighted to be here to learn more about the business.” Ian Miller, Milton Keynes ServiceCentre Manager, says: “This new site is a response to increased demand and the need for more space. At Milton Keynes we have access to our entire fleet of over 1,500 couriers. Our technology gives us complete transparency of where every courier is and this enables us to select the optimum courier for each job, giving our clients excellent service levels. “Our client base continues to grow thanks to our professional approach and the high service levels achieved for our secure SameDay Courier services. We also use leading-edge technology and offer real time ‘live’ OnLine courier tracking and an award-winning environmental programme. We are able to give local businesses what they want; a truly ‘national’ level of service. “We are supremely confident that the new site will allow us to achieve even greater service levels to our clients.” CitySprint continually looks for new ways to reduce its carbon footprint and that of its clients. The new ServiceCentre is powered entirely by 100% renewable electricity (see notes for editors). Ian continues: “The need for a responsible attitude to the environment and to actively try and reduce one’s carbon footprint is echoed among business here in Milton Keynes. “A recent national survey we conducted found that 66% of clients felt it was important or very important that their courier had a range of environmentally-friendly options for them. We have an award winning programme that we believe will help local businesses in the area improve their carbon footprint.” |
