Introduction of ULEZ
As you are no doubt aware, from the 8th April, London will be implementing the Ultra Low Emission(s) Zone (ULEZ) in Central London with the aim to improve air quality and reduce pollution for Londoners. At CitySprint we are fully supportive of this World first and have been working towards helping our couriers to upgrade to cleaner vehicles. Many of our couriers have long term vehicle supply commitments and as this landmark policy change has been decisively and quickly implemented in London, their ability to work from vehicles with the correct standards will take a little time. We are also investing in a further expansion to our environmentally friendly fleet, with the aim of having a fully ULEZ compliant fleet by the end of 2020.
How does CitySprint's Clean Air Commitment work?
From 1st April, we will be passing on a £5.00 charge for any jobs within the ULEZ undertaken by a van or motorbike. You will be able to see when you have contributed as it will be clearly displayed on your invoices. The money will go towards helping couriers upgrade their vehicles and expand our green fleet.
Our aim will be to reduce or remove this cost over time as our fleet moves towards meeting the standards for compliance to environmental and CSR regulations implemented by the City of London. We will send you a quarterly update on our progress towards this transformation and our further efforts to become the most sustainable same day courier service in the country.
