Introducing the CitySprint Tour of Britain 2023 - making wishes come true

Today, we are proud to announce our latest charity initiative, the CitySprint Tour of Britain 2023, in support of Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK. This two-week event will see colleagues from across the business cycling between all of our UK service centres in relay fashion with a total of 46 pit stops, and the overall aim of raising £50,000 to help fund the amazing work Make-A-Wish do.

The multistage tour will see colleagues riding a CitySprint e-cargo bike across Scotland, England and Wales, supported by other colleagues on their pushbikes, taking in CitySprint’s service centres that cover the length and breadth of Britain. Kicking off in Aberdeen on September 8, teams will take it in turn to complete individual legs between service centres, and make their way south to the finish line at CitySprint’s Plymouth Service Centre on September 22.

With a total of 1,665 miles and a total ascent of 69,636 feet to cover, the team are aware of the challenge ahead, and know it’s for a great cause. Sadly, over 60,000 children in the UK have been diagnosed with a critical condition, changing their lives and the lives of their families forever. This £50,000 contribution will help provide joy and create great memories by granting life changing wishes in truly difficult times.

David Williams, Chief Financial Officer at CitySprint, said,

The sole reason behind our Tour of Britain charity ride is to support the Make-A-Wish foundation in raising awareness of the challenges that many children are facing.

We want to demonstrate through our cycling efforts our strong commitment to creating a positive impact on the lives of the people and communities we serve and work in. Raising money for the Make-A-Wish UK Foundation will help them bring happiness and magical memories to life for children with critical illnesses by making their wishes come true in the year ahead.

If you’d like to support us through one of our tiered partnership options then please get in touch with us at tourofbritain@citysprint.co.uk.
