With our target to become 100% carbon neutral by the end of 2023 fast approaching, we have been working with Leeds City Council to complete over 4000 emission-free deliveries across West Yorkshire since August 2021.
Seven months ago, we joined Leeds City Council’s campaign to help tackle the climate emergency by trialling one of their electric vans for our deliveries.
Our Service Centre Manager in Leeds
, Andy Parry worked closely with the local authority to arrange the supply of one electric van for an initial period of three months. Based on the first few months of success, the council offered a lease extension until the end of March 2022.
Andy commented: “The Leeds Service Centre is proud to be involved in the trial of electric vans through Leeds City Council. The vehicle supplied was the first of now a fleet of 5 EV’s covering Leeds and surrounding areas. It’s fantastic to be part of the local initiative in trying to create a greener city.”
The team in Leeds also acquired four additional vans for the CitySprint fleet to use from November 2021 onwards. We are proud to announce that our fleet of electric vans in Leeds, have clocked up a total of over 35,200 emission-free miles, fulfilling delivery services for over 372 clients.
As a logistics company we understand that we are part of the air pollution problem. Although our journey to building a greener future
goes back to 2007, we’ve continued to clean up our operations in recent years taking many steps to reduce emissions from our deliveries and waste at our sites.
Together with six e-motorbikes being added to our London fleet last year
, powering our 30+ nationwide sites
by 100% renewable energy sources, installing on-site e-charging stations and partnering with a new carbon offset provider to help our customers achieve their sustainability goals, we are making great progress in delivering our commitment to improve our overall environmental impact.
