We’re delighted to announce that we have been named as a finalist for the Business in the Community Responsible Business Awards – an annual celebration and recognition of responsible business.
What makes this even better is the category we’ve been shortlisted for - Environmental Sustainability – which recognises all the hard work that’s been happening across our business in our efforts to reduce the emissions from our fleet.
Some of the initiatives we have been recognised for in the award submission include the fact that 100% of our service centres running on renewable energy and that we’ve saved 362,664 litres of water per year by transferring to waterless urinals in our office. This is alongside our work with Southampton University, who analysed our London operations and identified a number of ways to increase efficiency.
Our green fleet was of course a major cause for recognition. In addition to having the largest cargo bike fleet in London, we have expanded our electric van fleet to regions outside London and have the first hydrogen van in use for logistics. These are all part of our efforts to be a responsible, environmentally friendly partner.
The awards champion the most inspiring businesses who are making a difference by taking action to build more inclusive workplaces, stronger communities and tackle our biggest environmental challenge.
The winners of all ten categories, including the Responsible Business of the Year, will be announced at the Responsible Business Gala Dinner
at the Royal Albert Hall on 9 July, in front of 1,200 business leaders. Whether we win or not, we’re thrilled to have been recognised for our hard work and will continue to put sustainability at the core of everything that we do.
