Championing Road Safety Week this November
19 November 2025The biggest annual campaign to highlight the preventable deaths and injuries on UK roads, in partnership with Brake.

From November 16 until November 22, CitySprint is joining thousands of organisations across the UK in supporting Road Safety Week.
The annual campaign is led by Brake, the road safety charity we have proudly supported for more many years. As part of our partnership, we commit to educating our colleagues, customers, and the couriers who work with us on the dangers of unsafe road use to minimise casualties and foster a safe environment for everyone to travel.
Every year in the UK, more than 1,700 people are killed on the roads, another 30,000 suffer life-changing injuries, and five people die every day. Many of these incidents could be prevented through safer vehicles and safer habits.
This year’s theme, safe vehicles save lives, focuses on the importance of keeping vehicles roadworthy, safe and properly maintained. Safe vehicles can help prevent crashes, protect people in the event of a collision, and support drivers through features such as lane-keeping alerts, emergency braking and speed assistance. But these technologies only work when they are switched on, understood and used correctly.
There are simple habits we can all build into our routine. Here’s what you can do to ensure your vehicle remains safe:
- Carry out your F.L.O.W.E.R. checks before every journey. These quick checks take only a minute but can prevent breakdowns, collisions and needless harm on the road.

- Keep safety features switched on. Advanced driver-assistance systems can prevent crashes and protect people when incidents happen. These life-saving technologies only work when we use them.
- Stick to speed limits. Speed is a factor in nearly 60% of all road deaths in the UK. Sticking to speed limits isn’t just a legal requirement, it’s one of the simplest ways to protect yourself and others.
- Look out for others. Whether driving, cycling, or walking, we all share the same roads, and the same responsibility. Our roads are shared spaces, and each of us plays a part in keeping them safe.
As part of this year’s Road Safety Week campaign, our colleagues and the couriers we work with have been invited to a webinar hosted by Brake that will explore why safe vehicles matter, how to carry out essential safety checks, and how vehicle technology can reduce risk when used effectively.
Please prioritise your own safety and the safety of others by planning your journeys responsibly, as dangerous driving can leave families facing devastating loss. Make sure your vehicle is safe by checking essentials like tyres, brakes, lights, and safety features. A well-maintained, roadworthy vehicle greatly reduces risks for everyone on the road.
