Our local team in Sheffield are proud to have made their 4th donation of the year to the Trussell Trust. With each donation, the team have gathered a total of around 1,200 food items, helping their local community fight poverty.
Commenting on the latest contribution to the Trussell Trust foundation
, Sheffield Operations Controller, Adam Yates stated:
“It was another amazing response from all the colleagues and couriers in Sheffield, especially with everyone feeling the recent pinch of fuel, energy, and food price increases. We can only hope we are making a difference to those in need.”
In the last 5 years, the need for foodbanks in the UK has increased by 81%, making donations more important than ever. Between 1st April 2021 and 31st March 2022, the
Trussell Trust food bank network distributed over 2.1 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis and around 40% of these donations were given to children.
Committed to local communities
With over
30+ service centres across the UK, CitySprint is proud to support the local communities we have a presence in, aiming to create a positive impact felt by both residents and the environment. Many of our
service centres in the surrounding areas have also dedicated their time to gather supplies for local foodbanks part of the Trussell Trust.
As part of our
CSR commitment, we encourage colleagues to take part in various incentives to create positive changes in their communities. Additionally, CitySprint provides an annual donation of £20,000 to help the Trussell Trust with local people in crisis.
