Birmingham resident and CitySprint courier Mozhghan Khalifah has received an award recognising her role in maintaining the supply of drinking water in one of the UK’s worst hit areas during January’s devastating floods.

Mozhghan delivered a vital component to a remote flood-hit United Utilities treatment centre, despite road closures, blockages and adverse weather. Travelling from Birmingham to Keswick, she went above and beyond to ensure the replacement part was safely delivered and the community’s supply of drinking water protected.

Andrew Watson, analyst at RS Components and responsible for the United Utilities account, who presented Mozhghan with the award, commented, “Our clients rely on us to be there in times of crisis, which makes the quality and reliability of our logistics partner vital to our work. This case demonstrates what a big impact the commitment and dedication couriers like Mozhghan can make, not just to businesses, but to the local community.”

Patrick Gallagher, chief executive of CitySprint, congratulated Mozhghan on the award, “I am proud to call Mozhghan – who has shown such dedication – a CitySprint courier. As a company, we are nothing without our people, and this highlights the value of the service they provide day in, day out.”

CitySprint has a regional network of 40 service centres across the UK, with a fleet of over 3,000 vehicles able to reach over 88% of the UK mainland within 60 minutes.
