Collaborate UK Report
Whilst it's no surprise that businesses have had to adapt to tough economic conditions and technological change over the last few years, the extent and scale of this transformation in the UK is remarkable. As SMEs employ over 14.4 million people nationwide, they are the lifeblood of the UK economy.
With 75% of our 25,000 customers being small and medium sized enterprises, we felt it was important to find out how businesses are responding to the economic conditions and what impact this is having on collaboration between businesses. We work with businesses across the country every hour of every day. From our perspective, it has been fascinating to see them change the way they work with each other and, in many cases, play a part in it.
Our third report, in 2015, shows that 1.45 million SMEs in the UK are seeking growth oversees but two thirds of these businesses state that the possible UK exit from the EU is affecting this.
The European Union referendum is the biggest uncertainty facing business in 2016, according to the new report. This is followed by UK political upheaval, skills shortages and the rising costs associated with finding the right people.
