Introducing our latest Courier Champions

It's that time again where we're able to reveal the latest winners of our Courier Champions scheme and celebrate the great service provided by them!

Every quarter, colleagues nominate the couriers they believe have gone above and beyond when it comes to delivering a great service  or supporting their local community when it was needed most. All four of the winning self-employed couriers stood out for their commitment and pride in consistently delivering a great service for their customers or being there to really help their local community when it was needed most.

Wayne from Sheffield, who won the ‘Local Legend’ category,

Wayne was recognised for being a true team player and how hard he strives to help others whilst delivering the best standards.

“When the Sheffield service centre manager was faced with the challenging task of being the sole Sheffield team member to participate in the CitySprint’s Tour of Britain, Wayne bravely stepped up to cover half the route alongside Richard. Wayne sacrificed his own time and potential earnings to support the service in raising funds for Make-A-Wish UK. Not only that but Wayne is a fantastic courier who accepts any work sent his way, whether it’s long distance or local.”

James from Warwick, who won the ‘Nationwide Natural’ category,

James was chosen for his remarkable assistance during the CitySprint Tour of Britain.

“The level of support shown by James during the CitySprint’s Tour of Britain was outstanding. He stayed behind us from Warwick to Oxford, easing the concerns of riders on busy roads by moving traffic around us and being on point when needed. But that’s not all, he also retrieved a vehicle for a courier who sadly passed away, returned it to the next of kin, and then made his way home using public transport. He had no hesitations in completing this”.

Leonardo from London East, who won the ‘Client Crusader’ category,

Leonardo was entered by two of his customers, for the excellent work he has done for the Sutton Library service. In particular, two customers specifically praised him as a reliable and self-motivated ambassador for CitySprint.

“A reliable and self-motivated courier who consistently delivers high-quality work” and “a hardworking and reliable courier who is highly thought of throughout the London Borough of Sutton”.

Mohammad from Birmingham, who won the ‘Out of Hours Hero’ category,

Mohammad was selected for his exceptional dedication and swift response during a critical situation.

“One cold Monday morning, with a last-minute courier cancellation for blood collection from Birmingham to a military airbase, I turned to Mohammed. In just 20 minutes, he collected the blood, ensuring it made its crucial flight on time, potentially saving lives and supporting the vital work of the MoD.”

We’d also like to give a special mention to all of the other nominees, each of whom should be proud for being recognised as great at what they do. Although winning is always a great feat, just being nominated is a great sign of the outstanding service and above-and-beyond attitude that the courier suppliers demonstrate on a daily basis.
